| Abstract | Summary-Before understanding the relationship between culture and sports, we must understand the meaning of culture. The general meaning of the word culture is human daily behavior, lifestyle, activities, customs, thoughts, ideas, new research, and inventions. Culture is formed through a long tradition. Culture is the rules and values of thought and conduct that a society inherits from its past. Therefore, it is said that we inherit culture from our past. In other words, culture is a distinctive lifestyle that has been passed down through tradition. Culture literally means a better or improved state. Humans are inherently progressive creatures. Using their discretion and intellect, they continuously improve and advance the art, literature, music, sports, architecture, crafts, religion, philosophy, science, customs, traditions, festivals, and ways of life contained within culture. Culture is a changing historical process. We have learned many things from our ancestors and, over time, have added new ones. Old beliefs have been discarded, and what was acceptable has been preserved. Culture is passed down from one generation to the next, and new ideas and norms are constantly introduced. Thus, the culture we inherit from our ancestors is called cultural heritage. |
