Abstract The Java-based unified marketplace project is a robust and user-friendly web application developed to empower rural communities by enabling local vendors, farmers, and homemakers to efficiently sell, share, or donate their surplus products. It provides users with a comprehensive digital platform for listing, browsing, and managing groceries, vegetables, cooked food, and homemade goods. Key features of this project include a secure user authentication system, category-based listings, multilingual access, and location-based product filtering through Google Maps API. Users can create personalized accounts, securely post their products, and choose between selling or donating options with flexible delivery preferences. The project ensures data security and privacy by implementing role-based authentication and encrypted data storage in MySQL. The application leverages Java technologies such as JSP, Servlets, and JDBC for seamless backend operations and a responsive interface. This system not only promotes rural entrepreneurship but also reduces food wastage and supports sustainability through community-driven exchange. In summary, the unified marketplace project offers a valuable and secure digital tool for local trade and donation management, providing a seamless, inclusive, and impactful experience that fosters rural empowerment, sustainability, and economic growth.
