| Abstract | Background: Worm infestation is a major public health problem. It has been estimated that more than 25% of the world’s population are infected with worms, with the major incidence occurring in developing countries. Worm infestation can be prevented by practices such as safe disposal of excreta, washing hands after defection, wearing slippers and food hygiene, washing vegetables and fruit properly before using. These can be implemented through effective education of mothers because the mother is the only person who provides the proper education to their children. Aims: The aim of the study was effectiveness of Health Education Intervention Programme on knowledge regarding worm infestation and prevention of worm infestation among mothers of under five children. Methodology: A pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test research design through non-probability convenient sampling 100 sample were selected from selected rural area of Dadra Nagar Haveli. Demographic variables based on baseline Performa was used to collect demographic data and knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the level of knowledge among mothers of under five children regarding worm infestation and prevention of worm infestation. The data was analyzed and interpreted based on descriptive and inferential statistics. |
