Effect of health awareness program on knowledge and attitude regarding tuberculosis among residents of selected chawls in DNH with a view to develop teaching learning material on TB

Abstract	Introduction: Tuberculosis remains a major public health challenge globally and especially in developing countries like India. Despite numerous national health initiatives, tuberculosis continues to affect millions due to lack of awareness, late diagnosis and inadequate treatment adherence. Chawl areas are particularly vulnerable because of overcrowding, poor living conditions and limited access to healthcare facilities. Aim: The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of health awareness program on improving knowledge regarding tuberculosis among residents of selected chawls. Materials & Methods: This pre experimental study was conducted among 120 residents of selected chawls in DNH to assess the effect of health awareness program regarding tuberculosis. Structured questionnaire and pre-designed and pre validated attitude scale were administered for data collection.
