| Abstract | Data mining has attracted popular interest due to the high demand for transforming huge amounts of data found in databases and other information repositories into useful knowledge. Data mining plays a significant role in disease detection by analyzing large datasets to identify patterns for early diagnosis, risk prediction, and personalized treatment. Heart disease is a major health problem in today’s time. Detecting heart disease requires a combination of tests, with the specific tests chosen by a doctor based on a patient's symptoms, risk factors, and medical history. However, the number of tests should be reduced by using data mining techniques. This paper aims at analyzing the heart disease dataset using association rules which is one of the important data mining techniques. In heart disease dataset, attributes are representing features/tests and rows represent the patient records. This paper uses association rule mining on a heart disease dataset to identify significant tests or features for diagnosis. |
