Abstract Generally being the backbone of a country's economy, many consumers are still unaware of their rights and protections. This study evaluates pre-service teachers' knowledge of consumer rights and protection, which is important because they help create responsible future citizens. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data from 50 pre-service teachers at Rama Vilasom Training College in Valakom, Kerala, using a normative survey method. The mean, standard deviation, and percentage analysis were used to examine the data. The findings showed that 6% of respondents had low awareness, 8% had high awareness, and 86% had moderate awareness. when compared to male pre-service teachers (48.4%), females (51.6%) showed a slightly higher level of awareness. The study emphasizes how important it is to implement consumer education into teacher preparation programs and plan awareness campaigns in order to improve future educators' understanding and encourage moral consumer behaviour.
