Indian Pharmaceutical Industry and Intellectual Property Rights with Special Reference to Patent

Abstract	The Indian Pharmaceutical Industry is a US dollar 33 billion industry in 2017 and recognised as a growth driver. The industry is the backbone behind maintaining the healthcare system of our country. Several policies are tried out and implemented to boost the performance of the industry. The paper thoroughly studied the Intellectual Property Rights and their applicability in the Pharmaceutical Industry. In this paper we have concentrated on how patent is related to pharmaceutical industry and growth of pharmaceutical patent over the years.
