Abstract The advancement of information technology has revolutionized library services, giving rise to digital libraries that emphasize speed, user convenience and security. Among these innovations, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has become a key tool for improving library operations. This paper examines the use of RFID in areas like circulation, inventory control, self-checkout and collection security. Compared to traditional barcodes, RFID offers faster processing, greater accuracy and automation, allowing libraries to enhance efficiency and user service. While challenges such as high setup costs, privacy concerns and lack of standardization exist, the long-term benefits-like better staff productivity and a strong return on investment-make RFID a strategic solution for modern libraries. Its adoption marks a shift toward smarter, more interactive library environments.
