| Abstract | Online shopping has revolutionised the purchasing behaviours of customers in India, particularly in small urban and semi-urban areas. This study examines whether internet purchasing by customers in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu is motivated by deliberate decision-making or behavioural compulsion. This study examines whether internet purchasing among customers in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu is influenced by logical decision-making or behavioural compulsion. In addition to technology variables like website design and commercial triggers, the study looks at psychological aspects including impulsivity, consumerism, and self-control. The subject matter of the study indicated that emotional satisfaction, ease, and compelling marketing indicators often overshadow logical decision-making. Utilising simple descriptive and correlational analysis, the results indicated that impulsive and consumerism positively influence compulsive purchasing, whereas self-control negatively affects it. The findings suggest that for many young consumers in the UT, online shopping is motivated more by impulse than by deliberate choice. |
