Post-COVID dysphagia: systematic review of prevalence, recovery, and rehabilitation outcomes

Abstract Dysphagia after SARS-CoV-2 infection (post-COVID dysphagia, PCD) has emerged as a clinically relevant problem, particularly among hospitalized and critically ill patients. We performed a systematic review to synthesize prevalence estimates, recovery trajectories, risk factors, and rehabilitation outcomes, emphasizing studies that used objective swallowing assessment (FEES/VFS) and those with medium- to long-term follow-up.
