Trends and Marketing Analysis of Osteoporosis Therapeutic Drugs in Uzbekistan

Abstract Objective. To assess the current stage and main tendencies of the development of anti-osteoporotic drugs in relation to their market value.
Materials and methods. The research used systematic, comparative and content analysis methods to examine the range of products offered by the group under study. In addition: Graphical method, generalisation approach, provide explanations and facilitate discussion.
The study was based on data from the State Register of Medicines and Medical Devices of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2024.
Results. According to the analysis of anti-osteoporotic drugs, the rates of vitamin D and its derivatives increased over 5 years, while calcium-saving drugs, on the contrary, decreased. No significant changes were observed in the estrogen gestagen and anabolic steroid groups. The results of country analysis showed that the main competitors among imported drugs are India and Turkey.
Also, according to the results of the study of dosage forms, it was revealed that in the groups of calcium preparations and estrogen and estrogen-gestagen preparations, tablets were the most popular in the group of vitamin D and its derivatives - drops. However, the most frequently mentioned INNs were zoledronic acid, cholecalciferol, calcium carbonate + cholecalciferol, estradiol and nandrolone decanoate were identified.
Conclusions. The dynamics of registration of the assortment of anti-osteoporotic drugs offered in the pharmaceutical market of the Republic of Uzbekistan by years, countries, dosage forms, and indices on INN were analysed. It was found that most of the mentioned drugs correspond to foreign drugs.
Moreover, it was found that there are no analogues of some drugs for the INN of domestic production in some groups.
