| Abstract | Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are revolutionizing data acquisition with small, cost-effective sensor nodes that can sense, process, and communicate wirelessly. They are used in diverse applications like environmental monitoring, healthcare, agriculture, and smart cities. Recent advancements, such as miniaturization, energy-efficient protocols, and IoT/cloud integration, have expanded their capabilities. However, WSNs face challenges like limited power, scalability, reliability in harsh environments, and security concerns. Future research is focused on integrating emerging technologies like machine learning, edge computing, and 5G to address these challenges, improve performance, and create efficient, scalable systems for the future. |
