Author(s) Mr. Santosh Kumar Tyagi, Prof. Mamta Singhal

Abstract The study discusses grammar as a foundation of learning a language and its relevance in determining the effectiveness of learners in spoken, written, reading, and listening. The qualitative approach was used whereby the methodology is based on a descriptive and explanatory design based on secondary data sources, which include books, journals, and reputable online sources. Results indicate that grammar increases accuracy, clarity, fluency, and coherence during both oral and written communication as well as facilitating understanding and criticality. The study concludes that grammar is an irreplaceable basis of language learning and its systematic teaching is a prerequisite of a sustainable language learning and competence in effective communication.
