Stream-based Differences in Attitude towards Sex Education Among College Students in Aizawl City

Abstract The present study was undertaken to study attitude towards sex education among college students in Aizawl city. The objectives of the study were to find out the attitude towards sex education and to compare it on the basis of students with regard to their stream of study. The study consist a sample of 262 college students out of which 156 were arts students and 106 were commerce students. Stratified random sampling technique was employed for selecting the sample. The findings revealed that majority (80%) of college students in Aizawl city have high attitude towards sex education; It was found that arts and commerce college students in Aizawl City have high attitude towards sex education. The results also show that there is significant difference in the attitude towards sex education among college students in Aizawl city with regards to their stream of study. Having learnt from the mean score, commerce students (107.52) have high attitude towards sex education than arts students (104.77), which means that commerce college students have higher attitude towards sex education as compared to arts students.
