Abstract	Youth constitute the cornerstone of national progress, embodying dynamism, creativity, and innovation. Their meaningful participation in politics, policy formulation, and local governance is essential for ensuring inclusive and sustainable democratic development. In a country like India, where the youth population represents a significant demographic dividend, their active engagement in governance and decision-making is indispensable for addressing pressing challenges such as unemployment, inequality, and environmental degradation. This paper explores the importance, challenges, and strategies for enhancing youth participation in governance at multiple levels. Drawing upon relevant policy frameworks and initiatives, it highlights how empowering youth can strengthen democratic processes and accelerate India’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
