Abstract This study is concerned with the knowledge, attitudes, and perception of young adults who are either a student or an employee about LGBTQIA+ community (Queer Folk) in a city like Mumbai. It is interesting to know that at present time are homosexual people embraced by society from the perspective of the youth generation. This is a qualitative study, in which semi-structured interview was designed and administered on hetrosexual subjects whose age varied from 17 years to 27 years, pursuing different fields of career, and coming from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. From the answers it was inferred that most of the participants are in favor of the Queer Folk entirely but there were a few who are not in favor of them but also do not bear any grudges against them.
Since these participants are the youth population of Mumbai, it reflects that the female population are more empathetic, open and tolerant of the LGBTQIA+ community than the male population. This also reflects how women think differently from men.
