| Abstract | The growing dependence on online retail platforms has intensified the need for accurate body measurement systems that can assist customers in selecting well-fitting garments with- out physical trials. This project presents an automated upper body measurement system that uses computer vision and pose estimation techniques to extract precise anthropometric data from live video input. By integrating OpenCV and Mediapipe Pose, the system detects key upper body landmarks such as the shoulders and chest, converts pixel distances into real-world measurements, and generates reliable dimension estimates. These measurements can be applied to applications such as apparel size recommendation, health monitoring, and ergonomic analysis. The system operates in real time using a standard webcam, eliminating the need for specialized hardware. This approach enhances accessibility, reduces sizing errors in on-linee shopping, and lays the foundation for advanced virtual fitting and body measurementtechnologies. |
