| Abstract | The present study investigates the relevance of Chanakya philosophy in modern education system. Chanakya recognized the importance of the role of education and discussed it exhaustively in all his teachings. His philosophy, if incorporated into the modern Education system, will help in the holistic development and character building of students. It will nurture critical thinking as well as develop a strong bond between teachers and students. A multidisciplinary approach, practical application of concepts and continuous learning will guide students towards success in life. The study highlights that education given to a child should not only concentrate on the theoretical aspect of the knowledge but should also include case studies, experiential learning, and hands-on training for the students to gain a deeper knowledge of the subjects. The education provided to the children and adolescents should be such that it empowers them and makes them capable of overcoming all challenges in their life. Chanakya’s philosophy is very relevant today and it focuses on the importance of education that helps individuals to develop holistically and makes them responsible citizens who lead to the progress of the Nation. |
