| Abstract | Tourism has become one of the most vibrant industries in the world. It significantly contributes to economic development, job creation, and social progress. It generates revenue, supports millions of jobs, builds infrastructure, and encourages cultural exchange across borders. Besides these benefits, the overall impact of tourism often relies on the quality of governance and policies that ensure safety, stability, and sustainability. In recent years, digital platforms, especially online travel agencies (OTAs), have changed how tourism connects people, places, and businesses. This paper examines tourism as a driver of economic growth worldwide, using case studies from India and the UAE to illustrate how governance, policy, and innovation affect its effectiveness. |
| Keywords | Cultural exchange, Quality institutions, Infrastructure development, Post-pandemic recovery, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), Tourism policies, Sustainable development, Tourism’s transformative potential. |
