Attitude of Elementary School Teachers towards Inclusive Education

Abstract The approach of inclusive education is inevitable in creating an inclusive society, where teachers have crucial roles in modelling the inclusive practices to cultivate a positive attitude in learners. The main objective of this study is to find the attitude of elementary school teachers towards inclusive education in the Angul district of Odisha with respect to their locality, gender and stream of education. In this study descriptive survey method is used, for which a sample of 80 teachers were taken from schools of Angul district using stratified random sampling techniques. Statistical methods such as mean, standard deviation and t-test were used to analyse the collected data. In this study, it is found that, maximum teachers have above-average favourable attitudes towards inclusive education and there is no significant difference in attitudes with respect to their locality and stream of education, but there is a significant difference in the attitude of elementary school teachers with respect to their gender.
