| Abstract | This study delves into how newly industrialized countries can develop environmentally and socially responsible battery supply chains while maintaining a balance of rapid growth. The study scrutinizes India’s changing landscape by considering the global demand trends, dependencies on essential minerals, and the incorporation of ESG frameworks, circular economy models, and recycling technologies. By the means of comparative analysis and case studies such as Radix Power Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Li-Cycle, and the EU Battery Passport the research enlightens how innovation and accountable policy can become the main drivers of long-term resilience. The results show that sustainability, if integrated as a strategic priority instead of being treated as a mere compliance requirement, is a powerful driver of competitiveness and resource efficiency. The study positions that the collaboration between governments, industry, and research institutions is the only way to turn the battery sector from a linear, extractive model into a circular and regenerative one thereby leading emerging economies like India to be at the forefront of the green industrialization and global energy transition. |
