Abstract The study titled “Attitude of Youth in Solan and Shimla Districts of Himachal Pradesh towards Entrepreneurial Education” examines the perceptions and orientation of higher education students toward entrepreneurship as a viable career pathway. Recognising the growing importance of entrepreneurship in addressing youth unemployment and fostering local economic development, this research aimed to assess the overall attitude of youth and identify variations across demographic and academic characteristics. The study employed a descriptive and inferential research design using primary data from 400 final-year students enrolled in six academic programmes (B.Com, BBA, B.Voc, M.Com, MBA and M.Voc) across government colleges in Solan and Shimla districts. Data were analysed using SPSS, applying t-tests and ANOVA to examine differences across gender, age, family type, education level, social category and academic streams. Findings revealed that the overall mean attitude score (M = 2.67) was significantly higher than the moderate benchmark (p < 0.05), indicating a positive and favourable attitude of youth toward entrepreneurial education. Significant differences were observed between districts, among age groups and across academic programmes, while no significant differences were found for gender, social category, family type, or educational qualification. Students valued practical learning, mentorship and curriculum relevance, though limited institutional and administrative support emerged as key constraints. The study concludes that youth in Himachal Pradesh demonstrate a strong inclination toward entrepreneurship; however, institutional reforms and ecosystem strengthening are necessary to transform this positive attitude into active entrepreneurial participation. Policy interventions such as integrating entrepreneurship education across disciplines, expanding incubation facilities and enhancing linkages between academia, government and industry are recommended to build a robust, inclusive and innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.
