| Abstract | This article delves into how CSR is playing an increasingly important role in India's fight for gender parity and women's empowerment. The Global Gender Gap Report 2023 ranks India 140th out of 156 nations, highlighting the critical importance of business action to tackle structural gender inequality. In this exploratory-descriptive study, we rely on secondary sources such as corporate social responsibility reports, case studies, and business websites. This report takes a look at the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of some big names in the business world, including ONGC, Godrej Consumer Products, Cummins India Limited, Hindustan Zinc Limited, and Hindustan Unilever Limited, all with the goal of empowering women through education, health awareness, finance, and entrepreneurship. Projects such as Salon-i, Project Sakhi, Project Shakti, and Empower-Her bring attention to new ways of helping women in rural and urban areas become more independent, take on leadership roles, and become economically and socially integrated. According to the results, CSR programs are moving away from charitable giving and toward strategic investments that benefit communities in the long run and help achieve national development objectives and international sustainability benchmarks. In order to achieve inclusive growth, reduce gender inequality, and advance India's progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the report finds that corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that empower women are crucial. |
