NextGen Healthcare: An AI-Powered Intelligent Medical Consultation and Appointment System

Abstract	The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector has revolutionized the way patients and doctors interact, diagnose, and treat diseases. This paper presents NextGen Healthcare, an intelligent web-based healthcare management and consultation system that integrates AI-driven diagnosis support, patient–doctor video consultation, and real-time appointment scheduling. The system combines a robust Spring Boot backend, a React.js and Tailwind CSS frontend, and a machine learning (ML)–based symptom checker powered by natural language processing (NLP). The AI model is trained on symptom–disease datasets to predict possible health conditions based on user inputs in natural language. The integration of video calling enhances accessibility by enabling remote consultations, while secure database management through MySQL ensures data integrity. The system aims to provide affordable, AI-assisted healthcare services and seamless doctor–patient connectivity in both urban and rural environments.
