| Abstract | This study explores the phenomenon of moral codes as social prescriptions and their role in shaping individual conduct within diverse cultural contexts. Grounded in a qualitative research orientation, the inquiry investigates how societies formulate, transmit, and enforce ethical norms as mechanisms to guide behavior and regulate social order. The central phenomenon under examination is the moral code itself, understood not merely as a set of written or unwritten rules, but as a lived and negotiated social reality. The contextual variable is the cultural and societal setting, which provides the framework within which moral expectations are articulated and sustained. Emphasis is placed on the explored dimension of individual interpretation and lived experience, highlighting how people internalize, resist, or reinterpret these prescriptions in their daily lives. Through narratives and subjective accounts, the study seeks to uncover the ways in which moral codes are experienced as both enabling and constraining forces in personal decision-making. The outcome dimension is conceptualized as the prevention or regulation of immoral deeds, approached not in a deterministic sense but as a socially constructed aspiration shaped by collective understanding and enforcement. Ultimately, the research contributes to broader discussions on the interplay between social norms, ethical reasoning, and personal agency, offering insights into how morality is continuously negotiated at the intersection of society and the individual. |
