Improving stock flow management using artificial intelligence: an innovative managerial approach in the e-commerce sector

Abstract	This research proposes an innovative managerial approach to improve the management of inventory flows in the e-commerce sector, using artificial intelligence as a strategic lever. Our methodology integrates four complementary components: a storage organisation based on the frequency of use of items, a precise identification system using spatial mapping, a forward-looking workforce management model, and a strategy for minimising transhipment time. Trials carried out in three e-commerce warehouses have demonstrated significant gains in terms of productivity, quality of service, employee well-being and reduced operating costs. Our integrated approach generates systemic benefits that are greater than the sum of isolated optimisations, offering e-commerce managers a strategic lever for transforming their logistics into a sustainable competitive advantage.
