An Analysis of Non Performing Assets of Axis Bank of India

Abstract	: Banking sector plays an important role in the development of an economy. Monitoring and maintaining the quality of assets is important for the sound function of the banking sector. Through this paper an attempt has been made to examine the growth of non performing assets of Axis bank. Being one of the largest private sector banks of India, the non performing assets trend of Axis bank is quite dissatisfactory and it is not good for the banking health of India. Moreover, the correlation analysis also depicts a negative impact of these assets on profitability of the bank. Therefore, it is recommended to take necessary actions in this regard and improve the assets quality of banks as it is also hampering the overall growth of Indian economy.
