| Abstract | Language learning has evolved rapidly in the digital era, with Duolingo emerging as a global leader in gamified education. By incorporating game mechanics—such as points, streaks, and leaderboards—Duolingo captures and sustains users’ attention while making language acquisition more engaging, efficient, and accessible. This paper explores how businesses leverage gamification to boost engagement, the strategies behind these designs, the ways consumers learn faster and easier, and the broader global impact on education and professional development. Findings reveal that gamified platforms democratize learning, enhance motivation, and provide scalable solutions, but also present challenges in deep learning and long-term retention. |
