Abstract This study explores the impact of digital technologies on socialization processes and the transformation of social relationships in contemporary society. With the rise of social media platforms, instant messaging, and online communities, traditional face-to-face interaction is increasingly complemented and sometimes replaced by digital forms of communication. Drawing on classical sociological theories of socialization and identity, including the works of Mead and Cooley, as well as contemporary frameworks such as social network theory, the study examines how individuals navigate online spaces to construct identities, manage impressions, and maintain social ties. Digital socialization provides opportunities for connection across geographic, cultural, and social boundaries, allowing individuals to form communities based on shared interests and values. However, it also introduces challenges, including the creation of echo chambers, reinforcement of social fragmentation, heightened performativity, and new forms of inequality related to access and digital literacy. Additionally, the blurring of public and private spheres in digital interactions has implications for privacy, self-perception, and social norms. The analysis concludes that while digital socialization expands social opportunities, it simultaneously transforms the dynamics of relationships, requiring ongoing sociological investigation to understand its long-term effects on social cohesion, identity formation, and community structures.
