| Abstract | The rapid growth of digital healthcare systems has increased the need to protect sensitive medical images from unauthorized access and cyber threats. This study proposes a secure and efficient web-based medical image encryption and decryption system using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). AES, a symmetric key algorithm, provides strong resistance against brute-force attacks and offers faster processing compared to traditional methods such as DES and RSA. The system encrypts medical images before storage or transmission and ensures accurate recovery using AES decryption. Experimental results show that AES delivers high security, noise-like encrypted outputs, low encryption time, and nearly lossless image restoration. Due to its speed, reliability, and compatibility with healthcare platforms, AES is highly suitable for safeguarding patient data in modern medical information systems. |
