| Abstract | The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which was launched by China in 2013, is a global infrastructure and trade project connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe. This paper will study its economic effects, focusing on how it promotes connectivity and growth while creating risks such as debt and political dependency. It also examines India’s position outside the BRI, driven by concerns over sovereignty and transparency. Overall, the paper finds that the BRI offers new trade opportunities but also reshapes global power and economic relations. |
