Comparative Analysis of Iṃdriya Vigyan in Advaita vedānta and Modern Science

Author(s) Mr. Sidharth Shankar Panda

Abstract The concept of Iṃdriyajñāna, or sensory knowledge, has been a pivotal theme in both Advait Vedānta and modern scientific discourse. By examining the philosophical underpinnings and scientific parallels, we aim to highlight the complementary nature of these seemingly disparate fields. In Advait Vedānta, sensory knowledge is often contrasted with higher, non-dual awareness, while in modern science, it is the basis for empirical investigation and understanding of the physical world. This paper delves into the nuanced relationship between these perspectives, drawing on classical texts and contemporary works.
