Gender Differences in Logical Intelligence among Secondary School Students: A Comparative Study

Author(s) Dr. Vijaya Kashinath Jagtap
Country India
Abstract This study investigates gender differences in logical intelligence among secondary school students using Raven’s Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM). A sample of 200 Standard IX students (100 males and 100 females) from Marathi medium schools in central Pune was assessed. Descriptive and inferential statistics (mean, standard deviation, t-test) were used to analyze the data. Results revealed that male students scored significantly higher than female students on logical intelligence (p < 0.01). The study discusses neurobiological, psychological, and social factors that may contribute to gender differences and provides practical recommendations for educators to enhance logical intelligence among students.
