| Abstract | Rural women are central to Kerala’s agriculture, yet many studies in India show significant information gaps about government schemes meant for women farmers. In Calicut district, schemes related to women farmers are largely channelled through programmes such as Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP) under DAY‑NRLM and Kudumbashree group farming initiatives. This study proposes to measure the level of awareness, sources of information, and extent of utilisation of agricultural schemes among rural women in Calicut district, and to identify major constraints in accessing these benefits. Primary data will be collected from a sample of rural women involved in agriculture through a structured interview schedule, supported by secondary data from government reports and prior studies on women farmers’ awareness of schemes. Analysis will be done using simple percentages, awareness indices, and cross‑tabulations by age, education, farm size, and membership in self‑help groups (SHGs). The expected outcome is to provide policy‑relevant suggestions to strengthen information dissemination through Kudumbashree networks, SHGs, and local self‑governments. |
