Abstract The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as the central monetary authority of the country, is tasked with the crucial mandate of operating India’s currency and credit system to foster monetary stability and sustainable economic growth. A core aspect of this responsibility is the control and management of credit within the banking system to influence overall economic activity, manage liquidity, and maintain price stability (i.e., control inflation).
