Trimethylsilyl Iodide as a Versatile Reagent for the Synthesis of 4- Iodopiperidine Derivatives Via Aza-prins Cyclization

Abstract A series of 4-Iodopiperidine derivatives have been synthesised in good yields by employing a catalytic amount of Trimethylsilyl iodide as a versatile reagent via Aza-Prins cyclization under mild reaction conditions. All the synthesised compounds were characterized using 1 HNMR, 13 C NMR and MASS spectral methods.
