| Abstract | Epilepsy is a neurological condition, mostly categorised by the recurrence of seizures throughout a person’s life. While there are no cures, there are viable treatment options available to those affected by the condition. But when it comes to deciding the type of treatment, factors such as the type of epilepsy and AED interactions become of huge importance, as those are indicators as to whether a treatment plan will be successful or not. This research paper will focus mainly on refractory epilepsy and how different AED interactions can affect the patient's decision of whether to choose monotherapy or polytherapy as their best course of treatment. |
