| Abstract | This study analyzes the level of knowledge among students from the Lac Ntomba sector regarding the history of community forests. It is situated within the broader issue of understanding historical boundaries, which often generate land-related conflicts. The research examines the actual degree of students’ knowledge of this forest heritage. The hypothesis is that they may possess a low level of historical understanding. A survey of 100 students, preceded by an exploratory inquiry, was conducted to collect the data. The results reveal significant gaps in their understanding of the historical role of forests. Students do not perceive history as a tool for management or conflict resolution. The study recommends strengthening forest-related knowledge through a Family-School-Society educational framework. |
