Abstract Nadaswaram is a double-reed wind instrument used in auspicious functions and festivals in South India, as well as in some parts of Sri Lanka. This instrument, which is also called the Raja Vadhiyam, has been mastered by many stalwarts, one of whom is Dharmapuram A. Govindarajan. This paper showcases his life, music affinity and notable compositions.
