Abstract Meethi neem is the popular name for Murraya koenigii Linn. The curry tree is indigenous to India and is found nearly everywhere on the Indian subcontinent, with the exception of the higher Himalayan regions [5]. Murraya koenigii (M. koenigii) is an Indian herb with medicinal significance that is a member of the Rutaceae family, which is extensively utilized in Ayurvedic medicine [2]. The Murraya koenigii plant is used as a herb, spice, and condiment in Indian traditional medicine, and it is also used to treat a variety of illnesses. Herbal products are used by about 80% of people globally due to their perceived safety, effectiveness, and cost [4]. Curry leaves have been shown to have antibacterial, antihypertensive, cytotoxic, antidiabetic, antioxidant, and bronchial respiratory problem-relieving properties [5]. Reviewing the Murraya koenigii plant's pharmacognostic, phytochemical, and ethanobotanical characteristics was the goal of this study [4]. There are many carbazole alkaloids in the plant. In addition, other phytocompounds, such as girinimbine, mukoeic acid, murrayazolidine, murrayazoline, murrayacine, koenimbine, koenine, mahanimbine, and others, have been discovered and isolated [7]. Murraya koenigii, the pharmacological effects of its separated constituents, and the extract's bioactivity on a variety of animal models in different labs are all included in this review [17].
Keywords Murraya koenigii, Pharmacognostic, Mahanimbine, Papillomas, Leucoderma, Myelosuppression.
