Abstract This research paper provides a critical examination of the pervasive and problematic linkage between Islam and terrorism in contemporary media discourse. It argues that the term "Islamic terrorism "is not a neutral descriptor but a socially constructed concept that emerged from specific historical and geopolitical contexts, particularly post-9/11.
