| Abstract | Mobile banking has become one of the most powerful drivers of digital transformation of banking sector and financial inclusion in India; it is reshaping millions of people access and use financial services. It represents a paradigm shift in India’s financial ecosystem, moving away from traditional branch-based banking to mobile-first experiences. With the rise of smart phones, affordable internet, banks and financial technology firms have leveraged mobile platforms to deliver services such as immediate fund transfers, bill payments, deposits, micro investment and micro-lending. This transformation in Indian banking sector has been accelerated by innovations like Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which has enabled seamless, real-time transactions across banks and apps. This paper attempts to study the effects of mobile banking as a tool of digital transformation and financial inclusion in India. The study found very high CAGR of mobile subscriber, volume and value of mobile banking transaction respectively 103.70%, 108.90% and 122.25% for the period of 2010 to 2025. This reveals that mobile banking demonstrates strong positive effects on digital transformation of banking sector and achieving financial inclusion in India. |
