| Abstract | SrErxFe12-xO19(x=0, 0.01, 0.05 and 0.09) nanoparticles were synthesized by auto-combustion method using urea as a fuel. The structural changes on substitution of erbium to M-type strontium hexaferrites have been evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM), FTIR, Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) used to determine the stability and decomposition of nanoparticles. PXRD pattern confirms the crystalline size 30 nm indicates pure hexagonal crystal structure. The decrease of Hc 4939.8-5232.5(Oe) and Mr 15.84-19.31 (emu/g) Value with increasing erbium substitution and hard magnetization confirmed by VSM analysis. The optical band gap determined was 2.5 eV. The photodegradation of various dyes in the presence of synthesised nanohexaferrites under the sun light showed that 4-nitroaniline undergo 98% effective degradation without loss of the catalyst. |
