The Indian Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar's Fight for Social Justice and Social Reform

| Abstract | Ambedkar was one of India's most prominent human rights fighter in the 20th century. Ambedkar condemned the caste system prevailing in independent era and also made several rules that built the social, economic, and political fairness in the country. To protect the Dalit rights, he used a variety of rules and methods. Ambedkar began a fight against Dalit prejudice through public opinion in publications, including Mook Nayak, Bahishkrit Bharat, which he founded to promote Dalit rights. He also started one of the well known Dalit rights was Vaikkom Satyagraha In Travancore, Maharashtra, which allows the Dalits' right to worship in Hindu temples. The Dalit rally was organized for legal entitlement to use water from Chowdar tank. This how Ambedkar championed workers and peasants rights. During 1930’s, when Ambedkar founded Independent Labour Party and championed the cause of tenants in Maharashtra's Konkan region. Ambedkar was a strong fighter for the cause of Dalits fighting tirelessly for their Dalit rights. He highlighted the economic exploitation faced by Dalits. In order to empower Dalits and socially integrate them, All sorts of social evils must be eradicated. Ambedkar advised social reforms to secure equality, liberty, and fraternity in India. |
