Abstract	प्राचीन भारतीय शिक्षा,सभ्यता एवं संस्कृति के विकास में गुरुकुलों तथा विश्वविद्यालय की भूमिका का अवर्णनीय है. इसने न सिर्फ भारतीय ज्ञान एवं संस्कृति को आगे बढ़ाया अपितु उसका मध्य एशिया तक विस्तार भी किया अपितु भारत को ज्ञान की राजधानी के रूप में विस्तारित किया.
