| Abstract | Finance is the scarcest resource in India and hence it needs to be utilized optimally. The sound performance of a firm depends on the well-planning of capital structure, investment and distribution. Since finance in the life blood and nervous system of an enterprise, the importance of the timely appraisal of the performance of the firm cannot be ignored. Financial Performance refers to the achievement of the bank in terms of profitability. Profitability of a bank denotes the efficiency with which a bank deploys its total resources to optimize its net profits and thus serves as an index to the degree of asset utilization and managerial effectiveness. Banking Sector plays an important role in economic development of a country. The purpose of the study is to examine the financial performance of public sector and Foreign banks. The data used for the study was entirely secondary in nature. The present study is conducted to compare the financial performance of Bank on the basis of ratios of Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs). Financial performance analysis is aimed at keeping the banks in checks by highlighting low and high performance areas with the understanding that it will bring about improvement in performance. The period of study taken is from the year 2015-16 to 2024–25. |
