| Abstract | Financial literacy refer to the knowledge as well as skills required for making informed and effective decisions related to money management. It consists of three components - financial knowledge, financial attitude and financial behaviour. The objective of this study is to examines the influence of demographic variables on financial literacy of Undergraduate students. The study was conducted using cluster sampling on 328 students studying B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. under the University of Calcutta. Statistical tools such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (SD), t-test and ANOVA were used for data analysis. The findings indicate that students' location affects their financial knowledge and attitude, while their gender primarily influences their financial knowledge. Additionally, the students' stream of study has a significant impact on their financial knowledge and to a lesser extent, their financial attitudes. The study concludes that demographic factors have a partial yet significant influence on students' financial literacy. |
