A Cloud-Based Real-Time Public Transport Tracking System Using Java Full-Stack Architecture

Abstract Urban public transportation systems often face delays and lack real-time visibility, leading to passenger inconvenience. Traditional schedule-based systems fail to adapt to dynamic traffic conditions, resulting in inaccurate arrival information. This paper presents a cloud-based real-time public transport tracking system developed using a Java full-stack architecture. The system provides live vehicle tracking, dynamic ETA prediction, and real-time notifications using RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and cloud deployment. Experimental results show improved ETA accuracy and system responsiveness compared to timetable-based approaches, making the system suitable for smart city transportation solutions.
