Author(s) Dr. Dhanaji Vithalrao Thore
Country India
Abstract Sigmund Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams, first published in 1899, stands as a seminal text in the field of psychoanalysis and psychological theory. This paper delves into Sigmund Freud's seminal work, The Interpretation of Dreams, exploring its foundational concepts, methods, and case studies. Through a psychoanalytical lens, this study examines the book's central ideas, including dream work, the unconscious mind, symbolism, and repression. By analyzing Freud's own dreams and those of his patients, this research demonstrates the significance of The Interpretation of Dreams in understanding the human psyche and its unconscious dynamics. The study explores Freud’s conceptualization of dreams, the mechanisms he proposed for dream interpretation, and the broader implications for understanding the unconscious mind. Through a critical examination of Freud’s theories, the paper aims to elucidate both the enduring significance and the contemporary criticisms of his work.
