Abstract 14), developed by Sheard, Golby, and Wersch in 2009. To analyze gender differences in mental toughness, we used an independent t-test. The results indicated that female players had a mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) score of 35.47 ± 1.96, while male players scored 36.40 ± 4.27. The p-value was 0.46 at the 0.05 significance level, showing no significant difference in mental toughness between the genders. Mental toughness is a crucial psychological element in football, yet it is often overlooked. This quality can significantly affect athletes' performance in training and competitive settings. Although various mental factors contribute to athletic performance, mental toughness is considered one of the most vital. This study evaluated and compared the mental toughness of male and female football players at Dhanamanjuri University in Manipur.
